! AAREADME.TEX -- Demo for making a stand-alone application:
! MacTextToPC converts Mac text file to PC text files.

This demonstration makes a stand-alone executable program
using Alltalk. The program has no GUI: Drag and drop
Mac text files (in groups if you like) onto the
MacTextToApp.exe icon. The program will convert the
files to PC format. (It creates new files with the
appended extensions .cvt)

1) Put two copies of Alltalk.exe in the same folder as the
MacTextToPC application source files. Change one of the names
to:

	MacTextToPC.exe

2) Drop the source file MacTextToPCApp.alt on top of your original
Alltalk.exe program. (You can't use the new copy.)

3) You now have a stand alone application.
To fix things up a little, edit the resources in the new
program to get rid of the Alltalk version, icons, etc.

4) The heap size required for this application is quite small,
so you will want to set the heap size resource to something
much smaller as well. To figure out how small it could be,
run Alltalk.exe, and include MacTextToApp.alt using the
Listener window. Do a CHECK command to see the required heap
size.

5) The Alltalk heap inside the application file itself is very
compressable, so select the "compress" option from the file
properties dialog to reduce the exe file size.
