# AAHowToPowerUp.txt -- How to power up the B600 system

In the control room:

Power up the HP and go have coffee.
The HP must be fully up before you turn on
the controller consoles on the platform and in
the pump room. This is because the application
expects the controller to be up and the controller
has to download the startup files from the HP
	in order to run.

In the pump room:

Turn on the big red switch at each of the two pump stations.
Enable the pumps by pressing "Select 1"
and "Select 2" on each cabinet.

Sometimes the breakers go off inside one or both cabinets
	for no reason at all.
Open the left-most cabinet door with the T key on top and reset F1-F5 as needed.
	(Both starters)
Turn on the controller console power at the back side of the
	cabinet near the power cord.

By the wave board:

Check side seal pressure on the black wall box. It should
be 10 Psi. Adjust with the black knob. DO NOT set higher
	than 12 psi...

Trick: The valves leak unless you finish your adjustments
	by turning UP the pressure.

Under rare conditions, you may need to charge with the
nitrogen bottle on the wall behind.

In the pit:

There are two upper struts and two lower struts.
Each strut has upper and lower locking pins that must be
	removed by hand.

Clear away all ladders, ropes, hoses etc. that might obstruct
	motion of the wave board.

On the platform:

Turn on the data acquisition system with the outside
rocker switch by the power cord.

Follow instructions in the HowToRunB600.txt for software
	operation procedures.

Back in the Control Room

You can now run the software on the HP or remotely
via the LAN. See AAHowToRunB600.txt for details.

To shutdown:

	Reverse these procedures.

************************

Software notes:

	Select pumps 1 & 2.
Press the Reset button on the Interlocks.

Dealing with pressure balance problems:

	In the vertical position:
The lower should be at 2280.
The upper should be at 270.

With the locking valve open: (green light)
	enter the set point.

	Open the shutoff valve.

Wait for the green light on the error band indicator.

	Close the shutoff valve.

	The locking valve remains open.

Dealing with static lift precharge problems:

Too complicated for you to mess with.
Study the diagram on the wall behind the
HP workstation. Then give up an go home.
