# UnixHelp.txt -- Basic Unix command shell commands

# Directory navigation

	List a directory

		ls <path>

List in reverse time order so you most recent changes are last:

		ls -lrt <path>

List invisible files (Files that begin with a period are invisible)

		ls -a <path>

# Copy and move files

	Copy a file

		cp <fromPath> <toPath>

	Copy a directory recursively

		cp -r <fromDir> <toDir>

	Move a file or directory

		mv <fromPath> <toPath>

# Edit a file

	Edit with windows-like tool

		nedit <path>

	Edit with unix-like tool

		vi <path>

# Compare two files for changes

	diff <path1> <path2>

# Compile a C program

	cc -c file.c -o file.o

	Add -g for debugging.
	Add -O2 for optimization

# Link an executable image

	ld file1.o file2.o ... -o program

It is unconventional in unix to append a .exe to executables.
