Patrick is asking for some ability to adjust down the low oil level
indicator on the north 150 gpm pump (or replace it with a unit that has
a lower limit). Can we do anything to help here?? Tom, Dick, Steve,
please advise.

The rest of his e-mail is in regard to the testing status, which sounds
really good, and I want to share it with the team. The current plan is
to do the final bridge test on 5 November. That should wrap things up
and hopefully we will gain acceptance.

Dick,

So far so good...everything is working very well. Terry and I
decided
to charge the entire system including Blowdowns to see how much oil we
consumed from the pumps. The north pump (150 gpm) low level faulted
even
after I filled it as close to the top as I feel comfortable with. The
other
two pumps made it through the charge. Is it possible to get a slightly
longer "low level indicator" for the north pump? Terry had the level
set as
low as possible, and we might only need another inch lower before the
pump
kicks off to make it through a charge. This also included the bearing
sumps
at their full level, so I was consuming all available oil.

The rigid testing did not work and we currently have no other
solutions
until a possible future date, but it definitely was not for naught.
Terry
and I went through the force balancing many times so I believe large
table
mode will not be a problem in the future. We are now on the final bridge
installation, which I now believe should go without a hitch. The system
is
performing exceptionally well.

Terry and I also revisited AIC with much success, getting
convergence
much faster than before, so with a little more experimenting on my part
I
will add this into our testing program complimenting STEX.

Paul and I will work on a few small leaks in the basement next week.
Other than that, we are closing in on finishing.

Check out http://tpm.ce.unr.edu and look at macroscope. There is a
camera out in the lab now.

Thanks,

     Patrick
