469DU Demo Setup BKT 29-Jul-99

Here's how to make a hardware-free version of the 469DU
controller software that can run on any Windows95/98/NT computer
for demonstration or training purposes:

1) Make a new folder called "469DUDemo".

2) Inside of "469DUDemo", make a subfolder called "bin".

3) From folder "469DU", copy the following files to folder
   "469DUDemo":
		469DU.exe
		Calibration.cal
		Settings.set
		Table.dat
		the entire Documents folder
		the entire Matlab folder
		the entire TimeHistories folder

4) From folder "469DU\bin", copy the following file to folder
   "469DUDemo\bin":
		SuperSim.dll	(simulated realtime dll)

5) In folder "469DUDemo", open "Settings.set" with any text editor
and change the second line from
		coopsDriver 'Super.dll'
   to
		coopsDriver 'SuperSim.dll'
and save as a plain text document.

Folder "469DUDemo" now contains a complete working simulation
of the 469DU controller software. Copy this folder to whatever
Windows95/98/NT computer you like. If you use diskettes to do
this, you will need a file compression utility like WinZip and
two diskettes.

To run the demonstration software, just double click on "469DU.exe".
On the main panel, make sure the "Table Simulation" checkbox is
checked. If it isn't, click it on and save to settings file
"Settings.set" using the "File" menu, "Save Settings..." menu item.

The demonstration software provides a simulation of all of the
feedbacks in the system. Anything you can do in the real system
you can do in the demo system: function generation, file playback,
data acquisition, adaptive control--- everything. The simulated
hydraulics and table/specimen dynamics are modeled realistically.
Use this demo software to train yourself on 469DU operation before
trying the real system.
