My job is the installation, acceptance and training for large shaking tables. These

systems are used by government laboratories and construction companies and universities

to investigate structure response to earthquakes. It is a very interesting job that

takes my all over the world, but mostly to Asia. My salary is in excess of $100,000

per year, but you have to remember that my ex-wife still gets a chunk of that. HA!

The never-ending story, right? The good part of the job is that I get so many

frequent flyer miles that I can get to Manila for FREE! It would probably only cost me

about $200 to come see you. If we do hit it off, I could easily promise you that I would

come to see you. That is a promise that I can easily do. You should also know that I

keep my promises. My mother made sure that was one of the life lessons I learned growing

up. If you promise, YOU DO! It is amazing that we are products of our early environment.

I love animals and I love taking pictures of them at zoos and elsewhere. My father was a

veterinarian (animal doctor) and so is my older brother. I grew up in a state called Iowa.

It is in the center of the United States. I grew up on a farm and worked the farm until

I went off to college. If you don't love animals, I am afraid that I won't like you very

much. It is a window to my soul; however, that my love of animals shows up in my gentle

nature. I am a kind, generous person by nature; quite unlike other Americans you might

have met. If you want to see some of my animal photographs, you can see them on a web-site at:

I am over-weight (like most Americans). I don't have a good excuse other than the fact

that I quit smoking and gained over 50 pounds (22 kg), THEN fought my way back about

halfway and now I am somewhere between 20-25 pounds overweight. It is really hard to

lose weight while travelling, but I try. It is my worst fault. I have some hair loss

as well, but not total yet; perhaps Rogaine will save me.

As you will see from my photos, I do not look my age. I, also, do not

feel it, either. If you seem so inclined, I would like to hear much, much more about you.

Sincerely hoping to hear more from you,

Rod Larson
