Arrival Narita Airport from Cebu and going to Royal Park Hotel 1. You will arrive at a FAR, FAR gate on PAL. About Gate 96 at Terminal 2, Narita. 2. You will get out of the plane and go up an escalator to the next floor and go a long, long ways to immigration. It is about 1 Kilometer. There are slideways and about 1/2 way you go up another escalator. Then more slideways until you finally get to arrival immigration. There are several left turns, some gradual on the way. FOLLOW THE SIGNS THAT SAY "ARRIVALS". Do not go to International Transfers. For quite a while the signs will say BOTH directions - arrivals and transfers. 2. BUT, finally Arrivals and Transfers will split. Follow Arrivals. 3. You will be at immigrations. ON the plane after departure from Cebu, the stewardesses will hand out THREE (3) forms for you to fill out. One is an entry card and the 2nd is a customs card and the 3rd is a heath information card. The entry form has more stuff on the back, make sure to turn over and check the boxes. Make sure to SIGN the form as well. The custom and health forms need your signature as well. You will need to know your flight number : PAL 436. 4. At the immigration officer's desk, you will see a machine in front of you. It has places for each 1st finger to read your fingerprints. Put your 1st finger on each hand on the machine in the obvious places and push down. Look into the camera. The officer will adjust it to frame your face and they will then scan your fingers and take your picture. After that, the officer staples your departure card in your passport and you go on. 5. After going through immigration, you go just a few feet and then have to turn right and go down an escalator to baggage claim. Now, on the plane before landing or just before getting to the gate, the stewardess will tell you what number of baggage claim will be for your flight, such as A6. 6. As you go down the escalator there will be an information board in front of you. Look up your flight on the board and there will be the luggage carousel number next to it. Your flight is PAL 436. Each time I arrived there, the number has been different. At each carousel, there is a sign indicating the flight as well, or a person holding a sign. 7. Get a cart from the holding areas near the carousels, if you need it. There are no porters available inside that area OR outside until you get to the bus to the hotel. 8. The customs check-out area has a person at each exit along the side of the baggage claim area. You roll your bags up to the counter with the agent and hand him/her your passport AND the customs form that you filled out. They will probably ask you if this is all your luggage and you say "YES". They might ask you why you are coming to Japan and you say "to stay overnight and see some of Tokyo." Essentially, you are coming for tourism, NOT business or meet relatives. 9. After passing the counters, head for the exit doors, They automatically slide open when you approach them. Outside, you will have to go to the right to get around the end of the area where people are waiting. 10. The ORANGE LIMOSINE BUS service is directly across the hall from the exit. That is the bus company that we will take to the hotel. 11. You should change $100 for mad money. There is a bank to the left of the exit where you can change money if need be. 12. It costs 1,900 yen if the special is still on; otherwise it is the usual 3,000 yen to get a bus ticket to Tokyo City Air Terminal (TCAT for short). The bus agents at the counter speak English VERY well. They will issue you a ticket and tell you what stand outside for the bus and the time it leaves. TCAT is just across the street from the Royal Park Hotel. The LIMOUSINE BUS DOES accept credit cards. 13. Take your luggage outside ON THE CART. You can take the cart to the bus stand you will take to the city. You wait in line for your bus. There is a sign at the bus stop that will tell you what bus is next and where it goes. The bus runs VERY close to on time (japan does that). You can ask the bus agents where to wait, etc. They will be glad to help you. You will not have to go far to the right bus stop. The Limousine bus stops are right outside. Only the hotel buses are a hike. 14. Get on the TCAT bus. It takes 1 hour to get to TCAT. 15. Get off the bus at TCAT. Unfortunately, there are NO porters at TCAT. You will have to drag your own luggage. Enter the terminal and turn right. 16. You are in a long hallway that is about a block long. Walk ALL the way to the other end and you will see a sign at the END of the building that shows you that the Royal Park hotel is to the right outside. 17. Go out the 1st sliding door and turn right and go out the next sliding door that is very close to 1st door. You will be facing to the right of the exit then. 18. Ahead is a street light to get you across a narrow street. Wait for the light as there can be a lot of traffic there. The street is ONE WAY going to your left. 19. Cross the street and walk about 50 feet and look to the right and you will see the entrance of the Royal Park Hotel. 20. Enter the hotel and bellboys will RUN to help you. Say you are checking in. 21. At check-in desk say who you are and say you are my daughter - they might remember. I did stay there for over 5 months last year. 22. let them copy your passport (Japan law). They will give you key. Go thru payment details - a voucher or swipe of your credit card to guarantee charges. You will be arriving in Japan rather late - so I will give you your food options for the evening and the next day. Also, where you might want to go the next morning as you do not have to return to TCAT until 1:30PM to go to the airport. The Royal Park Hotel will hold your luggage. REMEMBER NO TIPPING.
